REWIND: Dancer - 'Boom Boom'

A selection in memory of the house music pioneer Frankie Knuckles, who died earlier this week. Knuckles was born in 1955 in New York and later moved to Chicago, where played an important role in developing and popularizing house music during the 80s when the genre was in its infancy. He was often billed 'The Godfather of House Music' because of his importance in the genre's development. So well respected was his work, that the city of Chicago even named a stretch of street and a day after Knuckles in 2004. He was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame in 2005 as recognition for his achievements. As another legend leaves us we say goodbye Frankie Knuckles and cheers for the music. Originally released as a 12" in 1987, 'Boom Boom' by Dancer (sometimes known as Dezz) was produced and mixed by Knuckles and features on the 1989 release 'Frankie Knuckles Presents - Music Selected And Edited By Ron Hardy'...
