Track Of The Day: Iggy Pop - 'Gardenia'

Earlier this year the iconic Iggy Pop released the finest set of songs he's made in decades. Assisted by Josh Homme, bassist Dean Fertita and Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders, the magnificent 'Post Pop Depression' conjures up memories of the punk Godfather's legendary collaborations with David Bowie, particularly this magnificent track. 

Homme states in an interview that Iggy revealed to him "'I was in San Francisco, with Allen Ginsberg, and there was this black stripper, Gardenia. She was beautiful, a lot of body. We were both going after her but I ended up hooking up with her. But she just wanted drugs at the end of the day. She was amazing…"
